School for Mentally Handicapped

Location: Rajahmundry, A.P. India

We have visited a school of mentally/intellectually disabled at Rajahmundry,(East Godavari dt., Andra pradesh). Our heart filled with sorrow and it was such an agony to see little children suffering. Though they are 10 years old, they can't even eat on their own, they can't control their call of nature and they desperately need support, love and caring.

We have distributed snacks and drinks to the children and Inquired the school staff about their basic needs and requirements. 
Sowjanya Manovikas School is not a commercial based but they are charity oriented and sometimes face financial challenges. Management is running the school to help mentally disabled children to the best but with limited funds. They discussed their program with us and came up with few requirements.

FeatherHearts worked with the school management for about 3 months and arranged funds to build a class rooms shed inside their hostel premises.

Our member Dr. M. Lava Raju visiting the school every 2 months to provide medical help for the students.
